Carole P. Jennings, PhD, RN, FAAN recently retired as an Associate Professor from George Mason University where she served as Deputy Director of the Center for Health Policy, Research and Ethics. Dr. Jennings previous position had been Coordinator of the Nursing Health Policy Program at the University of Maryland. While at Maryland, she founded and edited two policy journals for nurses. One was Nursing Policy Forum and the second Policy, Politics, and Nursing Practice. The latter journal is the leading policy journal for nurses in academia and practice. Additionally, Dr. Jennings serves as a legislative consultant on nurse practitioner issues and wrote the first nurse practitioner reimbursement bill to be introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. She continues to mentor countless nurses who aspire to the policy or political field. Her doctorate is in medical anthropology. jennjournal@aol.com, 301-608-8940
